Crazy!!! That's what life is like since I've started back at the AFL-CIO, it's a lot of work. Went to Mecca, the real one, also known as Cooperstown (founded by James Fenmore Cooper's father). Like any holy site there were over priced relics (signed stuff). I went to the rally on Saturday, and I was three people away from the barrier right in front of the center stage (go getting kick ass tickets from the AFL-CIO). I got to shake Kerry's hand and got Edwards forearm, my mom got a handshake from Teresa. Way cool. The AL beat down the NL in the all-star game and Mark Mulder the only A's player on the final all-star roster won the game. Eric Chavez is back and the A's are only two games back of Texas in the West. I have a feeling I'll be watching the A's in October. I'm watching I Love the 90's where I get all my pop culture knowledge. I've got to read the short stories and Baltic Ghosts for school. Just finished On The Road by Jack Kerouac you spell his name, it was interesting, but I couldn't tell when he was high on life or high on "tea" as they called it back then. I can see how controversial it must have been when it came out, with all the sex and drugs and cursing. Well I'm bored and I can't think of anything else really to say, except... That
Shocking!!! I have confirmed some shocking news Amy Sedaris of the cult classic TV show Strangers with Candy is the brother of the author David Sedaris. Amazing how close we all are to each other.

So, as a member of the Prestonwood swim team, I must tell you of my exploits or lack of. So, me, Lucas Enloe, the pinnacle of physical excellence, get in the pool, only to find that I swim like a brick. In the span of 3 years, I have amassed 2 points (out of a total 360 possible). Ack! movie time! TO BE CONTINUED..........

ok i have time for one more quick post before my breaks up I've learned that there are a lot of boros in NC. Before this summer I really only knew Green, Ashe, and Golds, Tar and Pitts but know I know there's Bay, Battle, Bladen, Carr, Ellen, Grants, Halls, Moores, North Wilkes, Rox, Shaw, Vance, Wades, and Wilkesboro. Wow, and also we have a town called Toast and some other ones I'm not going to get to right now.
Here I am at the state AFL-CIO office on my lunch break (that's a good thing about working for labor you can take lots of breaks). I now know how Hannah feels after I've spent two and a half days typing the same three or four pieces of information over and over and over again. Yesterday was a break from typing I helped stuff and seal the monthly newsletter. A funny thing happened when last night on Fark.com and today on Lucas'and Will's blog I learned that Ivory soap was not accidentally made to float. Yesterday I heard the story about the accident that made the soap (of course there was a union laborer involved). Anyway break time is over and it's back to whatever I do.

And you think our government isn't responsive
Also Time had an article on blogs and there was a nice blip on Fark.com, a good site to find the weird stuff that doesn't make the front page
I've basically done nothing these last three weeks and it feels great. I have not shaved in a while so I have a peach fuzz beard, which makes my chin rubbing more dramatic. I stay up til 1 every night get up at 10 and play video games, read, or watch TV, then I eat lunch at around 1 and watch more TV or play more video games. As you can tell I have not been on the internet often or posting. It's nice to have not responsibilities and do mindless fun stuff. Last weekend I went to the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Seminar for NC. It was a lot of fun, and I'll post in more detail about that another time. Started reading The accidental Tourist, it's bearable not really interesting but I can stand the plot. The guy Macon is very neurotic like me thinking of new systems and wanting to be as efficient as possible. All the laziness is about to end because I start my volunteering at the state AFL-CIO office Monday and I'll work there all week and the week after that I'll be making the pilgrimage to Cooperstown.

Ouch! Eric Chavez, the main bat of the A's and anchor of the A's infield is out until at least the All-Star break (broken 5th metacarpal). The pitching staff better pick up and Dye (RF) and Durazo (DH) need more power production. Hopefully the A's can keep close to Anaheim and make their usually 2nd half surge.

Ha ha ha Smarty Jones! I'm so glad he lost, Funny Cide had a much better story than you (not saying much). I have no compassion for you, your owners, your trainer, your jockey, or your city (Philadelphia, well maybe a little for the city of Brotherly Love). Horse racing in general is the worst sport because no one has a chance to compete except for the super extremely well to do. One must pay for the horse (can be millions for the best), trainer and support staff (hundreds of thousands), and ridiculous hats and designer clothing (thousands).

On June 19, 1988 the world's largest sausage was created can you guess how long it was?
Answer: 13 1/8 miles long
Women's College World Series, It's mostly Southern and California schools. It's ok for background watching, it's amazing how they can pitch the ball over 60 mph on a flat mound and with such a large ball, still it's not College World Series.
Exams are over and summer has just begun.
I've kicked off my summer by lounging around all day watching TV, playing video games, and even doing some reading (nothing like a little Thomas Hardy to perk you up). I know I've got A's in English, APUSH, GOPO, and Chemistry. However, I'm not 100% confident that I'll have A's in Adv. Math or German, can't wait for report cards or AP grades. Next up is a date with the US History SAT II on the 5th.
